大阪在住。大阪芸術大学美術学科卒。
デザイン事務所を経てフリーランスのイラストレーターとして活動を開始。
鈴木成一装丁イラストレーション塾受講。大胆かつ繊細な筆のタッチが特徴。
軽やかさと存在感が同居するポートレイトなど、
クラシカルでありながらどこか新しさを感じられる作品を制作。
また、デザイナーの経験を活かしてデジタル技術も積極的に取り入れており、
2020年にAdobe Creative Residency Community Fundに選出された際は
動画作品にもチャレンジし表現の幅を拡げています。
日本国内のみならずアメリカ・香港・スイス・ベルギーなど海外からのオファーも多い。

Arai Terumi is a Japanese freelance illustrator.
He studied oil painting at Fine Arts Department of Osaka University of Arts.
After graduation, he designed a lot of advertisements as a graphic designer, but gradually came back to create works by hand again and began his career as an illustrator.
His works feature bold yet sensitive touches.He creates works such as portraits where lightness and strong presence coexist and also one can feel classical yet somewhat new from them.In addition, he uses digital technology taking advantage of his designer’s experience.When selected for membership in Adobe Creative Residency Community Fund, he tried making a movie and expanded his range of expression.He receives job offers not only in Japan but also from many different countries such as U.S. HongKong, Switzerland and Belgium, etc.
